    Food Cart Vendor Arrested after Assaulting Another

    A 32-year-old man from Jersey City told police that at 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, April 17, a 29-year-old woman hit him in the head with a bat, causing pain, swelling and lacerations, at the southwest corner of Eleventh Ave. and West 40th St. Apparently, the man and woman were both street vendors who had gotten into a dispute over a food cart location. The woman asked, “You wanna hit me?” before striking the victim with the bat. Sandy Hannalla was arrested and charged with assault, and the male victim was taken to Mount Sinai West medical center by an EMS team.

    Three Youths Terrorize Citi Bike Rider

    A 55-year-old man reported that at 6:35 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, he had just rented a Citi Bike at the northeast corner of Tenth Ave. and West 28th St. when three suspects accosted him, two of them 17-year-old men and the third of unknown age and gender. One of the male suspects told the man to give up his bike, saying, “If you don’t go away I’ll break your head!” before taking the bike. The trio then headed off westbound on West 20th St., but the victim took pictures of them, causing the second male suspect to approach him saying, “If you don’t delete the picture I’ll f*ck you up!” Then all three suspects fled northbound on Tenth. The stolen Citi Bike was valued at $1,200.

    Man Threatens CVS Employee with Hammer

    According to police, at 3:25 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, a 27-year-old man entered the CVS Pharmacy at 500 West 23rd St., lifted his shirt and displayed a hammer to a 38-year-old male employee. The suspect then placed items of merchandise in a book bag and left the store without paying. The stolen items six containers of Downy totaling $90.

    Robber Nabbed after Threatening Starbucks Employee

    A 31-year-old male employee inside the Starbucks location at 124 Eighth Ave. at West 17th St. said that at 7:35 a.m. on Sunday, April 17, a 27-year-old man took store goods without permission or authority, threatening to stab the employee with a dangerous instrument and causing the employee to fear for his life and safety. Christophe Levantino was later arrested and charged with robbery. The items stolen included Nitro cold brew and two protein boxes totaling $15.

    Trio Steal CBD Items from Bodega

    Police reported that at 1:55 a.m. on Thursday, April 14, three men around 30 years of age entered the People’s Food Market at 304 Eighth Ave. at West 26th St. One of them told a 21-year-old male store employee that he was a reporter’s brother and needed to check the merchandise behind the counter. The worker allowed him behind the counter, where the suspect removed items, passing them to the third suspect while the second distracted the worker in conversation. The trio then fled to a white vehicle parked in front of the location. The items stolen included a variety of CBD consumables, pipes and pre-rolls totaling $2,135.
