Police Seek Public’s Help after Suspect Flees after Slashing Woman in West Side Subway
A 28-year old woman was attacked on the 50th St. northbound “C” train subway platform around 3:10 a.m. on October 1. Police are seeking the public’s help in finding the suspect.

A 28-year old woman said she was stabbed at the 50 Street subway station on Tuesday, October 1 at around 3:10 a.m. and police have released a photo and video of the suspect in the random attack. According to the police ran “unidentified individual” approached her while she was standing on the northbound “C” train platform and cut her across her midsection with an “unknown cutting instrument.” The figure then left the subway station, fleeing on foot.
In the footage released by police, the suspect, a man can be seen wearing yellow pants, brown boots or shoes, a blue collared shirt, and a green zip-up jacket. He carried a dark briefcase or bag, and wore a grey jacket tied around his waist. As he walked through the subway, police said he can be seen putting something — possibly a phone — into his left hand jacket pocket.
The woman was taken to Bellevue Hospital by Emergency Medical Service ambulance and cops said she was listed in stable condition.
It was the second slashing attack in Manhattan that day. Earlier on the morning of Tuesday, October 1 — at around 2:43 a.m.—a 67-year old man was slashed across the face with a knife in the East Village. Police said they apprehended Tylek McPherson, 23, near Astor Place and E. 8th St. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment, and a knife was recovered at the scene. McPherson was arrested and charged later that day.
The slashing attacks on October 1 occurred just days after the arrest of 27-year old Raymond Kwok, who was apprehended by police inside an “L” train subway station on First Ave. and E. 14th St. on September 23. Kwok had allegedly stabbed a 29-year old man following a confrontation, which occurred at around 8:43 p.m. on September 20, after the victim bumped into Kwok while walking down the staircase near East 14th Street into the 1st Avenue L train station. The two then argued fiercely, until Kwok allegedly stabbed him in the back after pulling out his knife. Kwok then fled the scene. The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, in stable condition.
When Kwok was arrested on September 23, he was allegedly found to be carrying several knives. He has allegedly been charged with two counts of assault and criminal possession of a weapon, and was set free on supervised release.
