Suspect Nabbed after Crashing Stolen Car on Madison Ave.
The owner of a vehicle stolen in Pennsylvania was able to give the NYPD location of his that had made its way to the city by using a satellite tracking device. In a police chase, the alleged thief crashed into a ride share car and was nabbed.
A Florida man driving a car stolen in Pennsylvania had the vehicle’s location divulged by a satellite tracking device when he reached the city which led to a police chase and a crash into a ride share vehicle on Madison Ave and E. 36th St.
After he crashed the stolen Kia into a Toyota Highlander, he attempted to flee on foot.
Armed with the tracking info, police gave chase to the stolen Kia and the suspect crashed into a ride share car on Madison Ave. and E. 36th St. before attempting to make a getaway on foot.
The alleged thief, identified by police as Hayven Valerio, 23 of Orlando, FL. was nabbed by cops on E. 35th near Fifth Ave.
Two people were injured in the ride-share vehicle and treated at the scene. The driver of a Toyota Highlander that was struck by the stolen vehicle had a neck brace on at the scene.
Valerio was arrested and hit with seven charges including reckless endangerment, criminal possession of stolen property, leaving the scene of an accident with an injury, unauthorized use of a vehicle, fleeing an officer in a vehicle and reckless driving.
